Job summary

CBTalents is seeking a Stevedore Foreman for a Mozambique LNG project located at Afungi, Cabo Delgado. You will lead stevedoring teams during vessel loading and discharge, ensuring safety and efficiency in line with approved work plans and project requirements.

The role requires bilingual Portuguese and English communication, prior supervision of stevedoring or port cargo-handling teams, and hands-on experience with rigging, lifting accessories, and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Fluent in both Portuguese and English, spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily stevedoring activities, allocating duties and resources according to the shift plan.
• Conduct pre-shift briefings and toolbox talks in Portuguese and English, ensuring workers understand their tasks, hazards and controls.
• Coordinate vessel and quayside activities with vessel representatives, lifting teams, equipment operators and cargo tally personnel.
• Verify that personnel are competent and authorised for their assigned tasks.
• Ensure cargo handling follows approved method statements, risk assessments and lifting plans.
• Provide clear shift handovers and follow up on operational and HSE corrective actions.
