Job summary

SplitMetrics is seeking a Team Lead (Python) to steer the backend and data platform within a remote-first engineering org. You will guide the backend, full stack, and QA engineers, plan roadmaps, and drive data pipelines for performance and reliability.

As a senior technical leader, you will coordinate quarterly planning, manage risks, and collaborate with product managers and architects, while ensuring clear documentation and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Python experience including high-performance data systems such as StarRocks.
• 2+ years in a leadership role (team lead, tech lead, etc.).
• Experience planning and delivering complex projects like database migrations.
• Deep familiarity with data lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with data gathering / data scraping.
• Strong understanding of performance optimization and scalability.
• Able to work under high delivery pressure and make trade-offs.
• English level B1+.

Responsibilities

• Own planning and delivery of the technical roadmap.
• Lead backend, full stack and QA engineers; organize day-to-day work and ensure predictable delivery.
• Plan work for the next quarter and contribute to high-level multi-quarter planning.
• Maintain and review current technical risks; manage risks early.
• Optimize data gathering, pipelines, performance, and system reliability.
• Drive modernization of legacy services and reduce technical debt.
• Collaborate with product managers and architects on priorities and alignment.
• Ensure proper documentation, visibility and knowledge sharing inside the team.
