Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking a Freelance Lead Electrical Engineer to support a high-profile data centre project in Portugal. The ideal candidate has strong commissioning experience across full lifecycle from installation to handover and has worked on hyperscale data centres.

You will lead electrical activities, manage subcontractors and site teams, coordinate with clients and commissioning teams, ensure safety and schedule, and contribute to commissioning plans.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Lead Electrical Engineer on data centre projects.
• Strong commissioning and startup experience in mission-critical environments.
• Knowledge of MV/LV systems, UPS, switchgear, generators and distribution.
• Experience with hyperscale or large-scale data centres.
• Availability to start in November.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical activities across the full data centre project lifecycle.
• Manage electrical subcontractors, vendors and site teams.
• Oversee installation, energisation, commissioning, testing and handover.
• Coordinate with clients, commissioning teams and project stakeholders.
• Ensure safety, schedule and adherence to specifications.
