Safeguard Global is seeking a data engineering leader to shape and evolve our data platform across AI analytics and operations. You will guide data architecture, governance, and production readiness, while partnering with engineers to deliver scalable, reliable data capabilities.

You will mentor a data engineering team, set technical direction, and influence cross-team decisions, ensuring the platform serves AI, analytics, and operational use cases with robust data quality and governance.

Qualificações

• Significant experience in data engineering or data platform roles.
• Proven experience with Apache Iceberg or equivalent modern table formats.
• Strong expertise in dbt for building and maintaining transformation layers at scale.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Athena).
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform.
• Deep capability in data architecture and schema design across complex environments.
• Track record of leading a data engineering team.
• Ability to influence technical direction across teams without direct authority.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the architecture and evolution of our data platform, shaping how data is ingested, modelled, governed, and consumed across the business.
• Own data architecture and schema design for AI products, analytics, and operations.
• Set technical direction for the data engineering team and establish standards for quality and production readiness.
• Drive data governance at engineering level including data quality, lineage, ownership, and cataloguing.
• Build data infrastructure on AWS using Terraform with reproducible environments.
• Partner with the AI engineering team to ensure the data platform is AI-ready and scalable.
• Mentor and develop data engineers to build durable team capability.
• Contribute to strategic technical decisions and collaborate with Head of AI on platform direction.
