Job summary

Azure Dine & Hire is seeking a skilled Head Chef for our Almada, Portugal restaurant. You will oversee all kitchen operations, develop menus, and lead a team to deliver high-quality dishes with consistent flavor and presentation.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years as a chef, strong leadership, and experience with menu planning, food safety, and bilingual communication (English and Portuguese preferred). Flexible hours including weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Chef in a fast-paced restaurant.
• Proven track record in menu planning and creating new dishes.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team.
• Excellent communication in English and Portuguese (preferred).
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative and high-quality menu items that meet customers' preferences and seasonal availability
• Oversee food preparation and ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality
• Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high levels of productivity and efficiency
• Manage inventory levels and ensure timely ordering of ingredients to maintain freshness
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
• Collaborate with management to create budgets and monitor kitchen expenses
• Continuously evaluate kitchen processes to identify areas for improvement
