Job summary

Joom is seeking a Lead Backend Developer in Lisbon to drive the architecture and delivery of scalable backend systems for our marketplace solutions. You will lead a team of 3–6 engineers, shape technical direction, and collaborate across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Strong coding skills across languages (Go/Java/C++/Python) and solid algorithmic training are essential, as well as experience with Linux/Unix and distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and mentoring backend teams (3–6 developers)
• Strong algorithmic training and complex project development experience
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix development
• Solid architecture and design skills for scalable backend systems
• Proven ability to recruit, hire, and train backend engineers
• Experience with high-load services and distributed systems

• Come up with architecture for backend systems
