DSV – Global Transport and Logistics in Portugal is seeking a Lead Backend Developer to build scalable backend systems and distributed architectures. You will own backend services, design cloud-native solutions, and collaborate with Product Owners and Architects to set the technical direction.

We value engineers who adapt to new frameworks; strong experience with Java and Go is a plus, and Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka expertise is highly beneficial.

Qualificações

• Proven backend experience with scalable architectures.

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Backend Developer with strong experience in building scalable backend systems and distributed architectures.We value engineers who are technology-agnostic and can easily adapt to new frameworks and technologies based on business needs. Experience with Java and Go is a strong advantage, but flexibility and a strong engineering mindset are even more important.

Your responsibilities

• Owning and driving the development of backend services and products.
• Designing scalable, resilient, and efficient backend solutions.
• Partnering with Product Owners and Architects to define the technical vision.
• Leading a cross-functional Agile team through planning, delivery, and continuous improvement.
• Designing and maintaining microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Working with Kafka and integrating synchronous and asynchronous processes.
• Supporting the modernization of monolithic systems into cloud-native solutions.
• Writing and maintaining technical documentation

Our requirements

• Strong experience in backend development and software architecture.
• Proven experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Experience with Kafka-based applications.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong SQL and database design skills (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar).
• Experience designing REST APIs and integrating complex systems.
• Experience working in Agile environments.Leadership and mentoring experience.
• Experience withJava and/or Go is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of Angular or React is a plus.
• Knowledge of OLTP/OLAP setups and multi-tenancy concepts
