Pertemps ERP in Lisbon is seeking a Lead Backend Developer to guide the backend evolution during a major engineering transformation. You will own services from concept to delivery and drive scalable, cloud-native solutions.

The role emphasizes mentoring, architecture leadership, and collaboration with Product Owners and Architects. A strong backend mindset across .NET/C#, Java, Go, or Rust is valued, with Docker/Kubernetes experience a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Lead an Agile team through planning, development, delivery and continuous improvement.
• Make pragmatic technology and architecture decisions based on business needs.
• Set engineering standards and contribute to good architectural practices.
• Mentor other developers and help raise the technical capability of the wider team.
• Produce clear technical documentation and communicate complex technical decisions effectively.

I’m looking for a Lead Backend Developer to join a team in the middle of a major engineering transformation.

The technology landscape is evolving. While the team has a strong .NET background, they’re deliberately keeping an open mind about the future, with Java, Go and Rust all being considered.

Tasks

• Take ownership of backend services and drive their development from concept through to delivery.
• Design and build scalable, resilient microservices and distributed systems.
• Help transform a large legacy monolith into a modern, cloud-native architecture.

Requirements

I’m looking for an experienced backend engineer who is comfortable taking ownership and solving complex problems.

You’ll ideally bring 5+ years of backend development experience and a strong background in one or more of:

.NET / C# | Java | Go | Rust

The specific language is less important than your engineering mindset.

If you’ve spent your career with .NET but are excited about moving into Go, Java or another technology, that’s absolutely fine.

You should have experience with:

• Backend development and software architecture.
• Microservices and distributed systems.
• Event-driven architectures.
• Kafka or similar messaging/event-streaming technologies.
• REST API design and complex system integrations.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• SQL and database design, ideally with PostgreSQL, SQL Server or similar.
• Object-oriented programming, design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Agile development environments.
• Technical leadership, mentoring, or ownership of engineering initiatives.

It would be a bonus if you have experience with:

• Java and/or Go.
• Angular or React.
• OLTP/OLAP environments.
• Multi-tenant systems.
• Cloud-native application development.
