A leading consulting company in Porto is seeking an experienced Database Engineer with expertise in managing PostgreSQL databases on Kubernetes-based platforms. The role includes designing and deploying stateful workloads, implementing secure backup and recovery strategies, and collaborating with DevOps teams. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible, coupled with a strong understanding of cloud-native data services. This position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to participate in international projects.

Qualificações

• Proven experience in managing databases running on Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and cloud-native data services.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes networking, storage, and security policies.

Responsabilidades

• Design, deploy, and operate stateful database workloads on Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Implement and manage storage, backup/restore pipelines, and high availability strategies.
• Develop automation for provisioning and scaling using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
• Ensure security and governance by implementing RBAC, encryption, and network policies.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance to ensure quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Platform Engineering to design database-as-a-service patterns.
• Participate in international projects and contribute to architectural choices.

What You'll Do:

• Design, deploy, and operate stateful database workloads (specifically PostgreSQL) on Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Implement and manage persistent storage, backup/restore pipelines, data replication, and high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR) strategies.
• Develop automation for provisioning, upgrades, and scaling using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Ensure security and governance by implementing RBAC, encryption, secrets management, and network policies.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database and cluster performance to ensure quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Platform Engineering teams to design and implement database-as-a-service patterns.
• Participate in international projects, contributing to technology watch and influencing future architectural choices.
