Decskill, a growing IT consulting company, is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to optimize performance, reliability, and scalability of our client databases. You will drive backup/recovery strategies, migrations, and modernization initiatives while collaborating with DevOps, data teams, and security specialists.

Based in Lisbon, Decskill operates within the Astek Group across 23 countries. The role offers an international context with long-term career opportunities and a people-first culture

Qualificações

• Strong expertise in performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting database incidents.
• Experience defining and implementing backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.
• Hands-on experience with database migrations and modernization initiatives.
• Solid understanding of data architectures and data-oriented design principles.
• Experience with data integration tools and ETL/ELT processes.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools for databases.
• Knowledge of security best practices for database environments.
• Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools is a plus.
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in complex environments and manage multiple priorities.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Fluency in English (mandatory).
• Nice to Have: PowerShell, Bash, Python, data warehousing concepts, Docker, Kubernetes, big data technologies.
