Job summary

VisionSpace is seeking a Junior Software Developer (C) to join our onboard software team in Portugal. You will help develop low-level C software for aerospace applications, working within a tightly specified client tech stack while contributing ideas for architecture and performance.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, participate in Agile sprints, and ensure code quality through strict coding standards and tests.

Qualifications

A university degree in CS, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
2+ years of professional or project-based C programming experience.
Strong grasp of C fundamentals, pointers, memory management, and low-level concepts.
Experience with Git for version control and code reviews.
Proficient English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain high-quality C software for flight and onboard systems.
Follow strict C coding standards for safety-critical, resource-efficient code.
Collaborate with team during code reviews and use Git for version control.
Debug, profile, and optimise low-level software under memory constraints.
Assist in requirements analysis, design and documentation with senior engineers.
Participate in Agile practices, including sprint planning and stand-ups.
