Job summary

SWJ Portugal Engineering Solutions, based in Lisbon, seeks Systems Engineers from junior to senior levels to contribute to space and ground segment projects. You will define and manage system requirements, develop architectures, and ensure interfaces and baselines are coherent across domains.

Collaboration with software and verification teams is essential. The role emphasizes CCSDS/SLE/ECSS standards, requirement traceability, and evolving engineering workflows.

Qualifications

• Degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, telecommunications or related field.
• Knowledge of systems or requirements engineering from studies or projects.
• Experience with Ground Segment systems and space-to-ground interfaces; appropriate to seniority.
• Understanding of system architecture, interfaces, requirements traceability and technical baseline management.
• Familiarity with software engineering, integration and verification processes.

Responsibilities

• Define, analyse and manage system requirements across the development lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain system architectures translating stakeholder needs into requirements.
• Define and manage interfaces between space and ground systems and domains.
• Establish and maintain technical baselines and align requirements, architecture and interfaces.
• Develop verification strategies and support verification activities to meet requirements.
• Collaborate with software, development, integration and verification teams to resolve dependencies.
• Support technical reviews and governance per CCSDS, SLE and ECSS standards.
• Contribute to improvements in engineering workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
