Job summary

Team.it is seeking a Junior Cloud Engineer to design and implement cloud-native infrastructure for modern applications, using IaC and automation to boost reliability and developer experience.

You will collaborate with developers to ensure cloud readiness, observability, and resilience, and participate in incident resolution and root cause analysis. A strong foundation in Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure roles.
• Strong understanding of production operations and SRE principles.
• Experience with Linux-based systems and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes concepts including CRDs.
• Familiarity with Envoy as an API Gateway.
• Hands-on with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and IaC (Terraform, Ansible).
• Hands-on with at least one public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Programming in Java or Python for automation/tools.
• IaC experience with Terraform (and CloudFormation/ARM/Pulumi acceptable).
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Good understanding of Linux systems.

Junior Cloud Engineer - Is that you?

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud-native infrastructure supporting modern application architectures.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using software engineering best practices.
• Build automation and tooling (scripts, services, pipelines) to improve platform reliability and developer experience.
• Collaborate closely with application developers to ensure systems are cloud-ready, observable, and resilient.
• Troubleshoot cloud and platform issues, participating in incident resolution and root cause analysis.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of professional experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure roles.
• Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and production operations.
• Experience with Linux-based systems and system troubleshooting.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of Kubernetes concepts, including Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs).
• Familiarity with Envoy as an API Gateway.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Strong hands-on experience with at least one public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Solid programming skills in at least one language such as Java or Python, used for automation or tooling.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred; CloudFormation, ARM, or Pulumi acceptable).
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems and developer workflows (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Good understanding of Linux systems.

Nice to Have

• Cloud platform certifications (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud at foundational or associate level).
• Knowledge of Go (Golang).
• Experience supporting modern cloud-native application platforms.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and distributed systems.
• Experience with automation and platform engineering best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
• Collaborative, open communicator across technical and business teams.
• Proactive, curious, and eager to continuously learn new technologies.
• Structured and autonomous working style in agile environments.
