55 Tech in Lisbon is seeking a Junior Backend Developer to help build a real-time sports trading platform. You will design scalable backend services, deploy APIs, and work across databases to support low-latency trading.

Joining a tight-knit team of 3-4 engineers, you will tackle distributed systems challenges, optimize latency, and contribute to the data infrastructure powering sports and esports analytics.

Qualificações

• 2+ years backend development experience.
• Mandatory experience in SQL / Node.js (and API frameworks) / Typescript.
• Experience with Git, GitHub / GitLab or equivalent.
• Finance knowledge is a plus.
• Sports knowledge is plus.
• Experience in Rust.
• Experience in Python.

About the Role

We built a real-time sports trading infrastructure that aggregates odds and liquidity from multiple sportsbooks into a single unified platform. Users can execute trades seamlessly at the best available prices and liquidity across multiple venues in one click.

As a Backend Developer, you will play a key role in developing and deploying scalable API infrastructure. You will also be involved in database design, optimization, and management.

You will work closely with a small team of 3-4 engineers to build robust, high-performance backend systems capable of handling high-frequency data flows and real-time execution.

If you enjoy solving distributed systems challenges, optimizing for latency, and designing reliable API architectures, this role is for you.

Preferred Background
