Job summary

Jobbex Portugal is seeking a Java Tech Lead to support one of our clients. You will act as the technical focal point for the development team, guiding architecture across microservices and event-driven systems.

This role requires strong Java expertise with Spring Boot, experience in containers, orchestration, and scaling high-availability geo-distributed systems. You will mentor engineers and drive best practices in CI/CD and security.

Qualifications

• Strong Java expertise with Spring Boot and knowledge of Spring Cloud.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ).
• Hands-on with containers and orchestration for microservices.
• Experience with geo-distributed systems, high availability, and SQL/NoSQL.
• Understanding API security, OAuth2/OIDC, and secrets management.
• CI/CD experience and DevOps practices.
• Strong technical leadership and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical focal point for the development team.
• Drive architecture and development across microservices, APIs, and event-driven systems.
• Ensure architectural alignment from design through production.
• Lead code reviews and promote clean code, automated testing, and engineering best practices.
• Manage technical debt and ensure performance, security, resilience, and scalability.
• Support active-active architectures, data consistency, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Maintain technical documentation and mentor engineers.
