Job summary

A Vodafone Portugal procura um(a) IP NW Engineer para assegurar a disponibilidade, desempenho e segurança da rede IP de grande escala. O candidato participará na resolução de incidentes, mudanças de rede e iniciativas de automação, trabalhando em ambiente híbrido em Lisboa.

É essencial possuir formação em Engenharia/Computação, experiência com redes IP (incluindo BGP/OSPF/MPLS), bem como conhecimentos em Cisco (ACI/ASA/ISE) e soluções de segurança (Fortinet/Check Point).

Qualifications

• Diploma de Licenciatura/Mestrado em Engenharia ou Ciência da Computação.
• Experiência com tecnologias IP de redes: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, IPv4/IPv6.
• Experiência prática em configuração de ambientes Cisco (Cisco ACI, ASA, ISE).
• Experiência na gestão de soluções de segurança de rede (firewalls Fortinet e Check Point).
• Capacidade de diagnosticar e resolver problemas complexos de rede em LAN/WAN/Data Centre/IP transport.
• Capacidade de trabalhar bem em ambiente rápido e gerenciar prioridades sob pressão.
• Experiência em Automação e Scripting é um plus.
• Competência em Inglês e Português (falado e escrito).

Responsibilities

• Operar e suportar a infraestrutura IP de rede da Vodafone, garantindo disponibilidade e desempenho.
• Solucionar incidentes de rede dentro de SLAs acordados.
• Executar mudanças, upgrades e migrações de rede.
• Realizar análise de causas raiz e promover melhoria contínua do serviço.
• Apoiar iniciativas de automação e eficiência operacional.
• Manter documentação técnica e procedimentos operacionais.
• Priorizar ações técnicas para restabelecer serviços durante incidentes.
• Avaliar riscos e impactos operacionais de mudanças de rede.
• Sugerir melhorias de desempenho, resiliência e processos operacionais.
• Escalar riscos e problemas de serviço conforme necessário.

Vodafone is seeking an experienced IP Network Operations Engineer to join its Network Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and continuous improvement of Vodafone's IP network infrastructure supporting critical telecommunications services and enterprise services . This position requires technical expertise in IP networking, network security, operational troubleshooting, incident management, and service assurance within large-scale carrier and enterprise environments.

What you’ll do

• Operate and support Vodafone's IP network infrastructure, ensuring service availability and performance;
• Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents within agreed SLAs;
• Execute network changes, upgrades, and migration activities;
• Perform root cause analysis and drive continuous service improvement;
• Supporting automation and operational efficiency initiatives;
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures;
• Prioritizing technical actions required to restore services during incidents;
• Assess risks and operational impact of network changes;
• Recommend improvements to network performance, resilience, and operational processes;
• Escalate critical service risks and issues when required.

Who you are

• Bachelor or Master's degree on Engineering or Computer Science;
• Knowledge of IP networking technologies, including TCP/IP, Routing & Switching, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, and IPv4/IPv6;
• Hands‑on experience configuring Cisco environments (CiscoACI, ASA, ISE, among others);
• Experience managing and supporting network security solutions, including Fortinet and Check Point firewalls;
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues across LAN, WAN, Data Centre, and IP transport environments;
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced operational environment and manage priorities under pressure;
• Automation & Scripting Tools developing experience is a plus;
• English and Portuguese language (spoken and written).
