Job summary

David Kennedy Recruitment is partnering with a leading Outsourcing/BPO consultancy to onboard a Ukrainian-speaking Interpreter to join the team. The role is remote-based from Portugal and offers a full-time schedule.

You will render accurate translations between Ukrainian and English, maintain tone and style, support customer conversations, and work across Insurance, Legal and Medical domains. Candidates must be fluent Ukrainian and English, with a strong note-taking ability and neutral stance.

Qualifications

• Native/fluent Ukrainian (C1) and English (at least B2) proficiency.
• High School Diploma required.
• Education in languages/translation or related fields is a plus.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills.
• Ability to explain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication.
• Remain neutral and objective during calls.
• Reliable, autonomous and disciplined.
• Confident and organized with good time management.
• Ability to work with performance goals.

Responsibilities

Position: Interpreter

Location: Remote, Portugal

Employment type: Full-time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Render correct concepts and meanings between Ukrainian and English following complexity, clarity, tone, and style from one language into another

• Uphold the correct rules for grammar and syntax in both languages

• Provide strict renditions of the messages including every detail of the conversation

• Follow instructions of customers, manage the flow of the call and avoid taking over the call

• Understand protocol and terminology at the customer service level in the following industries: Insurance, Legal, Medicine (General and Forensic).

REQUIREMENTS

• Native/fluent level Ukrainian (C1), both oral and written. Fluent in English (at least B2 level)

• High School Diploma (mandatory)

• Education in languages/translation/interpretation or related fields will be considered as an advantage

• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills

• Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication

• Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and always remain neutral and objective

• Reliable, autonomous and highly disciplined

• Confident and organized

• Time management skills with maximum responsibility
