Job summary

Capgemini Engineering Portugal is seeking an experienced Generative AI Engineer to design, build and maintain AI-powered applications and agentic workflows. You will work with LLMs, RAG, tool integration and multi-agent architectures to deliver scalable solutions.

You'll collaborate with stakeholders, contribute to architecture decisions, implement monitoring, and develop APIs and backend services. The role offers hybrid work, training opportunities and exposure to national and international

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in Software/AI/Data Engineering roles.
• Experience building applications with Generative AI technologies.
• Strong Python programming and production-grade development experience.
• Experience with APIs using FastAPI or similar.
• Knowledge of SQL and data manipulation.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Familiarity with multi-agent workflows and tool calling.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of containerisation using Docker and CI/CD concepts.
• Fluent English and French.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain Generative AI applications and agentic workflows.
• Develop AI-powered solutions using LLMs, RAG, tool integration and multi-agent architectures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Contribute to solution architecture and AI engineering standards.
• Implement evaluation, monitoring and observability for AI systems.
• Design and develop APIs and backend services to support AI apps.
• Participate in deployment, testing and continuous improvement.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge-sharing materials.
• Support demonstrations and stakeholder presentations to promote AI adoption.
• Evolve AI engineering practices and reusable components.
