Job summary

CDS, an HPE company, is seeking a Technical Field Engineer in Lisbon to install, maintain, and repair customer IT equipment, focused on HPE and other vendor technologies. This hands-on, field-based role requires strong technical skills and a customer-oriented mindset to ensure operational continuity and customer satisfaction.

The position involves being the on-site technical representative, performing installs, breaks & fixes, and collaborating with internal teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT support or field service technician roles.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with a focus on delivering high‑quality support.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
• Valid driving license.
• Availability for on‑call duties and special service interventions.
• Professional proficiency in Portuguese and English (Spanish a plus).
• Highly organized, rigorous, and able to prioritize effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation and configuration activities per procedures and best practices.
• Execute Break & Fix interventions, including troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.

• Continuously enhance technical skills to support complex IT infrastructure.

Technical Field Engineer (Lisbon)

We are looking for a Technical Field Engineer (HW Engineer) based in Lisbon to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of customer IT equipment, primarily focused on HPE solutions and other vendor technologies.

This is a hands‑on, field‑based role, requiring strong technical expertise and a customer‑oriented mindset to deliver high‑quality services in critical environments while ensuring operational continuity and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the on‑site technical representative, maintaining a strong customer‑facing presence.
• Perform installation and configuration activities in accordance with customer procedures and industry best practices.
• Execute Break & Fix interventions, including troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of IT systems in critical environments.
• Ensure high service quality by adhering to established processes and meeting customer expectations.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams and elevate issues when necessary.
• Continuously enhance technical skills to support increasingly complex IT infrastructure solutions.

Mandatory Requirements

• Proven experience in IT support or field service technician roles.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with a focus on delivering high‑quality support.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
• Valid driving license.
• Availability for on‑call duties and special service interventions.
• Professional proficiency in Portuguese and English (Spanish is a plus).

Technical Skills

• Experience in field service environments, including Break & Fix, installations, and on‑site hardware maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of HPE ProLiant servers (installation, configuration, troubleshooting).
• Experience with HPE storage and backup solutions, such as:
  • MSA
  • 3PAR
  • Nimble
  • Alletra
  • Primera
  • StoreOnce
• Knowledge of HPE SimpliVity (installation, support, incident resolution).
• Experience with HPE Synergy and composable infrastructure (installation, maintenance, troubleshooting).
• Familiarity with iLO and UEFI.
• General understanding of virtualization environments and enterprise IT infrastructures.
