HITO is seeking an HVAC Mechanical Engineer to design and develop HVAC systems for diverse projects in Portugal. You will perform calculations, produce drawings, and coordinate with architects, electrical and structural teams from concept through commissioning.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, at least 2 years in HVAC design, and strong English communication. AutoCAD proficiency is required, and you will contribute to cost estimation and value engineering.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of HVAC design/engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC principles, equipment and materials.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISO and local codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and technical evaluations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Our client is currently strengthening its team by hiring an HVAC Mechanical Engineer:

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and related mechanical systems
• Prepare HVAC calculations (cooling/heating loads, ventilation rates, duct and pipe sizing, equipment selection)
• Produce and review technical drawings, layouts, and specifications
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (architectural, electrical, structural)
• Support project execution from concept design through construction and commissioning
• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation
• Ensure designs comply with local and international codes, standards, and best practices
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases
• Assist in cost estimation and value engineering when required

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience in HVAC system design and/or engineering
• Good knowledge of HVAC principles, equipment, and materials
• Familiarity with relevant standards and codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISO, local codes, etc.)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and technical evaluations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Good command of written and spoken English
