Job summary

Sidel in Santa Maria da Feira is seeking a proactive HSE & Maintenance Manager to drive safety, reliability and continuous improvement across site facilities and equipment. You will lead local HSE management, maintenance planning and compliance in an international, collaborative environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or HSE, 6+ years of industrial HSE experience, strong leadership, and fluency in Portuguese and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, HSE or related technical field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Health, Safety and Environmental management in an industrial setting.
• Good understanding of installation, commissioning and industrial maintenance activities.
• Fluent Portuguese and English are mandatory.
• Hands-on leadership style with strong organisational skills and proactive cross-team collaboration.
• Experience in security risk management, major projects or construction is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage the local HSE management system in line with company standards and local regulations.
• Lead HSE audits, risk assessments and incident investigations with action plans.
• Define and coordinate site safety training including drills, emergency preparedness and first aid.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure reliability and continuity of equipment and facilities.
• Monitor site security, access control, fire protection systems and contractor activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for safety, service quality, efficiency and cost optimisation.
