The Opportunity: As an HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting and continuously improving our Health, Safety and Environmental practices, ensuring compliance with Portuguese legislation and promoting a strong culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and monitor Health, Safety and Environmental procedures;
- Ensure compliance with Portuguese legislation regarding Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental requirements;
- Conduct risk assessments and propose corrective and preventive measures;
- Promote and deliver health and safety awareness and training;
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, preparing reports and action plans;
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities, machinery and equipment;
- Monitor and promote the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);
- Manage mandatory legal documentation related to Health, Safety and Environment;
- Support and accompany inspections and audits carried out by external authorities and organizations;
- Coordinate emergency drills and contribute to the development and updating of emergency plans;
- Promote environmental best practices, including waste management, energy efficiency and the reduction of environmental impact;
- Develop and monitor HSE performance indicators and reports;
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and actively contribute to building a strong safety culture.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a responsible, proactive and detail-oriented professional who is passionate about safety, sustainability and continuous improvement and who wants to contribute to the development of a new industrial operation.
- Higher education or professional qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering or a related field;
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an industrial environment;
- Good knowledge of Portuguese Occupational Health & Safety legislation;
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards;
- Good command of English, both written and spoken;
- Availability to work the afternoon shift, in line with the shift pattern practiced in production;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- High level of responsibility, organization and attention to detail;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- A strong continuous improvement mindset.
