Join Air Liquide's significant HR Transformation at our Global Business Services (GBS) hub in Lisbon. This role is a unique opportunity to act as a bridge between our centralized operations and regional stakeholders in the Benelux market. You will be pivotal in driving the employee experience by combining high-level communication with deep empathy, ensuring our digital transformation is felt as a positive change across the organization.
As HR Payroll Services Team Lead (m/f) your primary focus will be building trust, overseeing project management initiatives, and driving continuous process improvement. You will be essential in aligning stakeholder expectations with operational delivery, ensuring a seamless and reliable HR service through collaborative leadership and strategic influence.
Represent the GBS hub in presentations to Works Councils in the scope of responsibility, to build long-term trust and transparency.
Manage stakeholder relationships across the Benelux region, ensuring that local expectations are perfectly aligned with GBS delivery capabilities.
Advocate for a collaborative culture, bridging the gap between local HR teams and centralized payroll specialists to ensure operational alignment.
Oversee regional HR projects, applying robust project management methodologies to ensure timely and successful implementation of transformation initiatives.
Lead by example with an empathetic approach, coaching the team to handle sensitive employee queries with care and professionalism.
Monitor service levels, manage on-the-ground operations, and conduct Payroll Team quality assurance activities.
Drive a culture of continuous process improvement, identifying bottlenecks in day-to-day payroll operations and implementing scalable best practices.
Ensure consistent adherence to policies and procedures and compliance across the team, raising risks/issues as needed.
Resolve complex queries relating to payroll administration activities.
Provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) in case of escalations.
Support Payroll Specialists when demand is high.
Contribute to HR Services Business Continuity activities as applicable, highlighting critical resources and activities.
Contribute to vendor management if HR Services specific vendors are used to manage Payroll activities.
We are looking for a committed HR professional with a degree in Human Resources, Social Sciences, or a related field. Your background should include significant experience in an HR environment including Payroll —ideally within a Shared Services Center— where you have developed a high sense of responsibility and the ability to handle confidential matters with sensitivity.
As a natural leader and mentor, you excel at setting team goals and taking full ownership of results. You possess a pragmatic, analytical mindset and are passionate about promoting best practices and process optimization. Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment allows you to lead by example and drive continuous improvement.
Communication is at the heart of this role; professional fluency in English is mandatory while French language skills are a plus.You must have the interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, from executives to subject matter experts across different cultures. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills are essential to balance regional transformation projects with operational demands.
Technical proficiency is a key advantage; experience with Strada, Workday, or ServiceNow will be highly considered.
