You will work close to data, creative, and CRM teams on varied accounts from first implementation to mature structures. The role requires expertise in Google Shopping, GA4, and feed management tools, with strong analytical skills and English/Portuguese
Wise Pirates is looking for a Google Ads Specialist with a focus on Shopping to join our crew. This is a seat for someone who is at home in Merchant Center, who treats a product feed as a performance asset rather than an export, and who wants to work with a full stack of generative AI alongside the media work. The centre of gravity has moved. Most of the delivery decision now sits inside Performance Max and Google's automated bidding, which means the leverage is no longer in manual structure.
It is in what you feed the system: product data quality, segmentation, margin-aware targets and clean conversion signal. Google made that explicit in 2026 by scoring feeds directly, across roughly seventy attributes, with incomplete data costing impression share. Here the whole job is retail: the catalogue, the feed, the shopping surfaces and the margin. You will work in a Martech-independent agency, close to the data, creative and CRM teams, on accounts that range from a first implementation to large, mature structures.
Plan, implement, and manage Google Ads campaigns with a focus on Shopping, across Performance Max, Standard Shopping and the search inventory that supports them.
Create and optimize product data in Merchant Center, resolving disapprovals and keeping the catalogue eligible, complete and competitive.
Own the feed as the main lever: titles, attributes, custom labels, supplemental feeds and the product segmentation that lets bidding work on the right items. Feed completeness is now scored by Google and affects both impression share and cost.
Work to targets that reflect margin rather than platform ROAS alone, using custom labels and supplemental data to steer spend towards the products that are actually worth selling.
Decide what deserves its own campaign or asset group, what should be excluded, and what is quietly consuming budget without returning it.
Analyze performance and produce reports that explain what is driving results, not only what happened.
Keep conversion tracking and GA4 configuration sound, because automated bidding works from the signal it is given.
Brief and judge the image, video and text assets that Performance Max consumes, and use Merchant Center's own AI asset tooling with an eye on whether the output actually represents the product.
Stay up to date with market trends and best practice in Google Ads and e-commerce, in a product area that has changed name, interface and logic more than once in two years.
Work closely with other Pirates across data, creative and CRM, sharing knowledge and pushing towards a common goal.
Identify new growth and optimization opportunities across accounts, always in search of the next challenge.
Over 3 years of experience managing Google Ads campaigns, with meaningful e-commerce budget behind you and time spent inside automated campaign types rather than only manual structures.
Mastery of Google Shopping and Merchant Center, including feed rules, supplemental feeds, product data quality and diagnostics.
Hands-on experience running Performance Max for retail: asset groups, listing groups, exclusions, brand controls and reading the reporting it gives you rather than the reporting you wish it gave you.
Experience with e-commerce platforms and product feeds, and with at least one feed management tool such as Channable or Feedonomics.
Knowledge of web analytics tools, Google Analytics 4 above all, and the ability to reconcile what it says with the ad platform instead of choosing whichever number is kinder.
Working understanding of how conversion tracking is set up, and of why it matters to a bidding algorithm.
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, applied at product level rather than to account averages.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a genuine spirit of camaraderie.
Literacy in Tech and AI subjects, and practical understanding of how LLMs and agents work: context, tools, memory, and why the same prompt can return different answers. Sophisticated use of AI platforms, both with efficiency and security.
Fluency in English and Portuguese.
Passion for performance and results, and the persistence to keep working an account after the obvious wins are gone.
Appetite for the next platform change, and for testing it rather than reading about it. This channel rewrites itself regularly and the people who do well treat that as the job.
Interest in the client's margin, not only in their ROAS, and comfort asking what a product actually earns.
Accountability for the accounts you run and for what you promise a client.
Proactive in working across multi-disciplinary teams, sharing knowledge rather than holding it.
At Wise Pirates we promote and admire kindness, independently of rhythm, intensity and efficiency.
Capable of putting data first and obsessed with insight building, always with client satisfaction and business results in mind.
Interest and fluency in using AI as a partner to deliver efficient value, respecting security and privacy regulations.
An unwavering commitment to the client's bottom line, pushing boundaries to chase the best overall performance and business goals.
Google Ads certification, though it is not mandatory. Additional years of experience beyond the range above, for a broader remit and more ownership over strategy.
Deep expertise in retail and e-commerce, and a feel for how a catalogue, a season and a margin behave. Mobile app ads knowledge, and how app campaigns differ from the web side of retail. DV360 and the wider Google Marketing Platform, alongside our GMP team. Amazon Ads, or retail media beyond Google. Experience running Shopping across several markets, languages and currencies.
Local inventory ads, or bridging online campaigns to physical stock. Profit-based measurement, such as POAS, and the data work needed to make it real. Enhanced conversions and Consent Mode: how each one is implemented and what it changes in the data a bidding algorithm sees. Server-side tagging, or first-party data activation through Customer Match. Feed automation: scripts, rules engines or custom tooling that keeps a large catalogue correct without manual work. Marketplace or comparison shopping advertising alongside Google. Experience with subscription or repeat-purchase retail, where lifetime value changes what a first sale is worth.
