Experimental is opening La Compagnie Porto in the heart of Porto, seeking a Head Sommelier to lead the wine service and support the restaurant wine team. You will design wine experiences, train staff, and oversee stock, tastings, and events to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

You will report to the F&B manager and work closely with the Executive Sommelier to craft the hotel wine menu and elevate service standards across the team.

Qualificações

• Head Sommelier experience in a high-end restaurant or bar.
• Knowledge of Portuguese and international wines.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience supervising wine service and inventories.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and supervise the wine service for consistency and excellence.
• Lead the wine bar team on the floor during service.
• Support the restaurant Sommelier with wine service.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the wine list and train the team.
• Run regular wine tastings and training sessions on producers, regions and styles.
• Manage wines by the glass and cellar inventory, addressing discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Restaurant Supervisor, Bar Manager and other departments for a seamless guest experience.
• Contribute to wine experiences, tastings, dinners and events when required.
• Keep work areas and equipment in excellent condition.
