Moniepoint Inc. in Portugal is seeking a Head of Engineering, Payment Gateway to guide the technical direction and architecture of the Monnify platform.

You will lead engineering managers, define the roadmap, and ensure reliability, security, and scalability for multi-currency, international deployment. The role emphasizes API-first developer platforms, strong backend systems, and collaboration with product and business teams to align investments with growth.

Qualificações

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
• 5+ years hands-on Java engineering experience.
• At least 5 years managing managers in a scaling organisation.
• Experience in payments, fintech or financial services with knowledge of payment flows and compliance.
• Strong backend engineering skills in high-throughput, distributed systems.
• Experience building or operating a payment gateway or multi-currency platform is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Own the full technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Monnify platform across all areas.
• Lead multiple engineering teams through managers and set quality standards.
• Own developer experience including APIs, docs and SDKs.
• Drive multi-currency and international scalability.
• Ensure platform reliability, security and compliance in regulated environments.
• Collaborate with product, commercial and operations to align tech investments with business goals.
• Hire and mentor engineering managers and senior engineers.
