Moniepoint Group is seeking a Head of Engineering, Payment Gateway in Portugal to own the technical strategy for Monnify, the online payment acceptance platform. You will lead multiple engineering teams through managers, drive multi-currency and international scalability, and ensure security and reliability in a regulated environment.

The role requires hands-on Java leadership, API-first mindset, and deep payments domain knowledge, with collaboration across product, commercial and operations to

Qualificações

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years in engineering leadership roles.
• 5+ years hands-on Java production experience.
• Experience managing managers and scaling engineering org.
• Experience in payments/fintech with payment flow knowledge.
• Deep knowledge of API-first products and developer platforms.
• Leadership of multiple teams through managers in a scaling organisation.
• Strong backend, high-throughput distributed systems.

Responsabilidades

• Own the full technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Monnify platform.
• Lead engineering managers and set quality standards.
• Own developer experience including APIs, docs, SDKs and integration.
• Drive platform evolution to multi-currency and international scale.
• Ensure reliability, scalability and security in a regulated environment.
• Partner with product, commercial and operations to align tech with business goals.
• Hire and develop engineering managers and senior engineers.
