Körber in Portugal seeks an electrical systems engineer focused on automation, safety and conveyor technology to plan and design electrical systems, and to supervise the needed services per applicable standards.

You will support risk assessments, functional safety, tender documentation for suppliers, and provide installation support at project sites, with progress monitored until customer acceptance. Travel worldwide is required and English language skills are essential.

Qualificações

• Degree in automation or electrical engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience in automation environment and functional safety for machines and systems.
• Knowledge of machinery directives and relevant standards.
• Experience with bus systems such as Ethernet, PROFINET and PROFIBUS.
• Electrical design experience using RUPLAN or EPLAN in sorting/distribution tech (BHS/Parcel).
• English language skills required.
• Willingness to travel worldwide to support international projects.
• Teamwork, structured working methods, strong communication, and a self-reliant approach.

Your role in our team

• You are responsible for planning and design of electrical systems with a focus on automation, safety, and conveyor technology, as well as for supervising and coordinating the necessary services in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
• You are supporting in risk assessments, PL calculations, and customer documentation.
• You are supporting to define tender documents for our suppliers, provide technical support for installation activities at project sites, and monitor their progress until customer acceptance.
• Additional tasks include temporary technical leadership (subproject management for hardware engineering) within project execution, as well as participation in project and construction meetings.

Your profile

• You have successfully completed a degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable field; alternatively, you have completed training as a technician (m/f/d) or master craftsman (m/f/d).
• You bring professional experience in the automation environment and knowledge in the field of functional safety for machines and systems.
• You are proficient in applying machinery directives and relevant standards.
• You have experience with common bus systems such as Ethernet, PROFINET, and PROFIBUS.
• You have experience in electrical design using RUPLAN / EPLAN within sorting and distribution technology (BHS / Parcel).
• English language skills are required for this position.
• You are willing to travel worldwide to support international project execution.
• Teamwork, systematic and structured working methods, strong communication skills, deadline-, cost- and quality-oriented work, as well as a self-reliant approach round off your profile.
