JYSK in Lisbon seeks an experienced Team Leader – or Senior Java Engineer ready to move into people leadership. You will lead four software engineers while staying hands-on, driving Java development and quality, security, and engineering best practices.

Qualifications

• Solid professional experience in software development and strong knowledge of Java technologies.
• Motivated by leading, supporting and developing software engineers.
• Able to balance technical leadership with people leadership while remaining an active part of the team.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across teams.
• Ideally experience with AI-assisted or agentic software development.
• Takes responsibility, provides direction and fosters an environment for colleagues to contribute and grow.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop the Store Applications Team.
• Provide technical guidance and contribute directly to design, development and problem solving.
• Remain hands-on while balancing leadership responsibilities.
• Support thoughtful adoption of AI while upholding quality, security and engineering practices.
• Collaborate with other teams and platform teams.
• Implement JYSK leadership principles focusing on goals and accountability.
