Aqua Expeditions in Lisboa, Portugal seeks a Global Training, Development & Retention Specialist to implement the company’s training and development strategy. The role collaborates with frontline teams and operational leaders to diagnose capability gaps, design practical learning solutions and build sustainable internal talent pipelines.

Fluency in English and Spanish is required; French is a plus. The position is offered under an Independent Contractor Agreement and requires the ability to work

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in Training, Learning & Development, Talent Development or operational coaching.
• Luxury hospitality, cruise, travel or premium service operations experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work remotely while maintaining excellent communication with global teams across time zones.
• Must have full professional fluency in English and Spanish; basic French is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Translate Aqua Expeditions’ People & Culture standards into practical learning, capability-building and career development actions.
• Design, adapt and deliver training programs aligned with service standards, SOPs and business priorities.
• Provide hands-on, on-the-job and onboarding training across Aqua Expeditions operations.
• Lead onboarding, cross-training, refresher training and continuous learning initiatives.
• Coach crew and leaders to strengthen performance, feedback and people development capabilities.
• Develop structured development plans, identify high-potential employees and support internal mobility.
• Support succession planning and maintain visibility of talent and capability gaps across operations.
• Develop trainers and expand local training capability, including Aqua Lab and other platforms.
