Job summary

Deel is seeking an Operations Manager to own automation and efficiency across global payroll processes, building AI-powered workflows with Akai and delivering end-to-end projects across multiple workstreams.

You will partner with engineering, product, and ops teams across 90+ countries, identifying gaps and surfacing insights for leadership while driving cross-functional collaboration and scalable processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in operations in a fast-paced environment (Tech/FinTech start-up a plus).
• Comfortable building with AI tools and troubleshooting workflows; not just using AI but actively improving it.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operational workflows and identify efficiency improvements.
• Support automation initiatives to reduce manual processes and improve accuracy and speed.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to streamline tools and processes for internal teams and customers.
• Ensure adherence to operational controls, compliance requirements, and risk management practices.
• Monitor operational performance metrics and escalate gaps to leadership.
• Drive customer‑focused process improvements to enhance turnaround times and resolution quality.
• Expand and improve self‑service options to reduce dependency on manual support.
• Coordinate readiness for new product or market launches with stakeholders.
• Track and report operational outcomes and provide leadership with insights.
