Job summary

myPOS is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead end-to-end multi-country payroll operations across the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, France, and other European countries.

You will own governance, ensure regulatory compliance, partner with Deel, HR and Finance, and coach the payroll team to deliver accurate, timely payroll.

Fluent English is required; fintech/regulatory experience is a plus; Lisbon, Portugal preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of payroll experience including international multi-country payroll and leadership.
• Experience operating payroll across European jurisdictions; Italy, France and Germany a strong plus; Bulgaria a plus.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax, statutory compliance and labour law interactions.
• Experience with commission-heavy or variable pay structures.
• Experience with global payroll platforms (Deel preferred) and stabilising payroll operations after implementation.
• Experience designing and maintaining payroll governance, controls and approval frameworks.
• Experience in regulated environments such as fintech, financial services or payments is a plus.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); additional European languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Hold end-to-end payroll across multiple European countries.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time and in full compliance.
• Oversee onboarding of new hires in Deel before the first pay run.
• Oversee registrations with tax, social security and other authorities for new hires and changes.
• Reflect employment changes in Deel and related systems.
• Coordinate with HR Operations and Deel to keep payroll data complete and compliant.
• Stabilise payroll operations with Deel across all countries in scope.
• Refine payroll calendars, controls and hand-offs across HR, Finance and Deel.
• Maintain governance framework with clear RACI across HR, Finance, Tax and Deel.
• Ensure audit-ready payroll inputs, approvals, bonuses and exceptions.
• Strengthen data integrity and system integrations across Deel and HRIS.
• Own Deel vendor governance and SLAs; drive issue resolution.
• Partner with Finance, Accounting and Tax on filings and cross-border issues.
• Act as primary payroll contact for Finance, HR, Country Managers and senior leadership.
• Provide accurate payroll data for monthly close, accruals, budgeting and audits.
• Identify and mitigate payroll regulatory and financial risks.
• Support governance of employee benefits and pension processing.
• Maintain payroll SOPs and process documentation; lead payroll team.
