Job summary

IQVIA in Portugal is seeking a Global Safety Physician to lead medical safety activities across clinical development and post‑marketing programs. The role encompasses oversight of safety data reviews, regulatory submissions, risk management and cross‑functional collaboration.

As a project leader, you will mentor safety teams, ensure timely delivery, manage budgets, and engage with clients to advance pharmacovigilance initiatives while staying current with industry developments.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of global pharmacovigilance, clinical research, safety reporting, GCP and regulatory requirements.
• Deep understanding of clinical development, medical safety and risk management activities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in complex environments.
• Excellent consulting, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership including people management and strategic decision-making.
• Current medical licensure in the country of practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medical review of clinical trial and post-marketing safety data, including AEs and ADRs.
• Provide medical oversight and review of safety documentation and regulatory submissions.
• Support safety governance activities and 24‑hour medical support as required.
• Serve as Global Safety Physician, project lead, or medical safety advisor.
• Present safety findings and provide expert medical consultation to clients and teams.
• Lead medical safety teams through planning, mentoring, and resource allocation.
• Oversee financial, operational, and quality performance of assigned projects.
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposals and client presentations.
• Represent the Medical Safety function and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Drive continuous improvement and stay updated on industry and regulatory developments.
• Provide global medical safety oversight across clinical development and post‑marketing programs.
• Lead medical review of safety data, regulatory reports, risk management strategies.
