Job summary

Allient Porto in Vila do Conde, Portugal, invites applications for a Process Engineering Intern to join a dynamic, international engineering team. You will help define, optimize and document manufacturing processes, supporting problem-solving and continuous improvement across multiple functions.

The role offers hands-on exposure to process development, PFMEA, GD&T and 8D methodologies, with mentorship and collaboration across Engineering, Production, Quality and R&D teams.

Qualifications

• Recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and strong analytical/problem‑solving skills.
• Proactive attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn; good communication and teamwork.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken; knowledge of CAD/CAE tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the definition, documentation and optimization of manufacturing processes and work instructions.
• Assist in analysis of production processes and identification of improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with production teams to support process implementation and provide technical assistance.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, quality and productivity.
• Support monitoring and analysis of process performance indicators.
• Assist in root cause analysis and problem solving.
• Contribute to process and quality documentation, including PFMEA.
• Support validation of process changes, new materials and manufacturing methods.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality and R&D teams on industrialization of new products.
