Aptiv is seeking an IT engineer to join the Global Factory Information Systems team in Braga, Portugal. You will develop software for mission critical systems and help connect manufacturing sites to the Factory Information System.

You will collaborate with production teams to design and deploy capabilities worldwide, while maintaining high standards and security. The role requires 4+ years IT experience, a degree in engineering or CS, and strong OO language and Linux knowledge.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, CS or technology.
• At least 4 years IT experience with mission-critical, high-volume data processing.
• Experience with OO languages and scripting languages.

Responsabilidades

• Develop software according to quality standards and timelines.
• Develop in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Participate in design and deployment of a global Factory Information System.
• Act as technical SME to support operations and coordinate deployments.
• Provide consultation on application functionality and interfacing capabilities.
• Assist production sites in connecting new equipment to the Factory Information System.

Factory Information Systems (FIS) is Aptiv’s developed and owned system used to track and monitor manufacturing processes. We are looking for an IT engineer who will be part of Global Factory Information Systems team and will operate globally.

Your Role

• Software development according to given quality standards and within given time
• Develop in-depth understanding of manufacturing process
• Actively participate in the investigation, design and deployment of a global Factory Information System
• Act as technical subject matter expert to support ongoing operations. Participate in incident management process and problem resolution. Coordinate new system deployments globally
• Provide technical consultation to production sites in the area of application functionality, configuration and interfacing capabilities
• Assist production sites in connecting new equipment to Factory Information System

Your Background

• B.S. or Master degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Technology
• At least 4 years of experience in IT area: software development for mission critical, transactional systems processing high volume of data
• Ability to develop software in object oriented languages (C#, VB.NET, etc.) and scripting languages (TCL, Python, BASH, etc.).
• Red Hat Linux based applications environment.
• MariaDB (MySQL) database knowledge.
• English level B2 or higher
