Job summary

Cross Border Talents in Porto, Portugal is seeking a Senior Order-to-Cash (O2C) Specialist fluent in German and English to lead end-to-end O2C operations and mentorship within an international team.

You will manage billing, collections, and disputes, drive DSO reductions, and ensure compliance with internal controls and IFRS while collaborating with Sales, Logistics, and Tax.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in O2C, AR, or Finance Operations.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of O2C processes, financial controls, and compliance frameworks.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
• Strong command of German, both spoken and written.
• Advanced English (C1 level).

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and perform end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) operations.
• Manage order processing, billing, collections, cash application, and dispute resolution.
• Prepare and review Accounts Receivable aging reports.
• Drive collection strategies and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
• Manage relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Resolve escalated disputes and negotiate payment terms.
• Ensure compliance with audit requirements, SOX/internal controls, accounting standards, IFRS, and tax regulations.
• Drive process automation, standardisation, and efficiency initiatives.
• Support month-end and quarter-end closing activities.
• Perform reconciliations and prepare financial reporting for senior management.
• Train and mentor junior O2C specialists.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Logistics, Treasury, and Tax.

About the Position

Join an international team in Porto as a Senior Order-to-Cash (O2C) Specialist, responsible for managing and overseeing the end-to-end O2C cycle.

You will play a key role in ensuring process efficiency, financial compliance, timely collections, and effective working-capital management. The position also involves mentoring junior team members, resolving complex disputes, and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and perform end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) operations.
• Manage order processing, billing, collections, cash application, and dispute resolution.

• Drive collection strategies and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
• Manage relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Resolve escalated disputes and negotiate payment terms.

Working Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 09:00-18:00.
• Weekends off.
• Schedule may transition to 24/7 rotational shifts with rotational days off at a later date, subject to confirmation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in O2C, Accounts Receivable, or Finance Operations.
• At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of O2C processes, financial controls, and compliance frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation abilities.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday.
• Experience working in global business environments and with multi-currency transactions.
• Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
• Strong command of German, both spoken and written.
• Advanced English (C1 level).
