Job summary

Convatec is seeking a junior to mid-level Accountant to perform selected accounting and reporting tasks in the general ledger. The role supports reconciliation and accurate reporting for the assigned entities in a hybrid work setup.

Candidates should have at least 6 months of accounting experience, strong MS Office skills, and good English communication. A Finance/Accounting degree is required, with SAP being a plus. The position offers a competitive remuneration package and flexible office days.

• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and legislation.
• Identify improvement areas and participate in implementation.

Job description

The main purpose of the role is to perform selected accounting and reporting tasks in the general ledger area. The role contributes to ensure proper accounting, reconciliation, and reporting for assigned entity(ies).

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assigned accounting and reporting activities in line with defined processes and deadlines, standard operating procedures, and work instructions;
• update process documentation as required;
• Respond to finance queries raised by employees, managers, finance partners & internal and external stakeholders;
• Escalate issues and concerns to (Senior) Country Accountant or RTR Team Lead;
• Act as a team player, build good relationships with stakeholders;
• Support cross-process and cross-functional cooperation required to achieve overall goals for GBS;
• Secure compliance according to internal procedures and legislation;
• Act proactively in identifying improvement areas, participate in the implementation.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of overall combined accounting and finance experience;
• Knowledge of Technology: MS Office; SAP is an advantage;
• Strong communication skills;
• Taking ownership of assigned responsibilities, including self-study/research needed to execute the same;
• Being able to work to tight deadlines;
• Proactive and creative in terms of improving ways of working;
• Team player;

Qualifications / Education

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting.

Languages Mandatory: spoken and written English.
