Job summary

act digital is seeking a Full Stack Engineer with a strong back-end focus to help build a secure, multi-cloud GenAI platform. The role involves back-end development with some front-end contributions, covering design, implementation, documentation, testing and monitoring.

You will design and operate APIs, build scalable services, own features end-to-end, and collaborate with an international team to improve the platform. Hybrid in Lisbon with on-site presence several days weekly is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of web application development experience in cloud environments.
• Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js and React.
• Experience designing, implementing and operating APIs.
• Experience with Azure App Services, Cosmos DB and Application Insights.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficient in testing (unit and end-to-end).
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code and automation.
• Clear written and spoken English; works in cross-functional teams.

The work is primarily back-end development, with some front-end contributions, and includes taking features through design, implementation, documentation, testing and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver platform capabilities for document understanding, translation, APIs, automation and agent-based workflows.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of web application development experience, ideally in cloud environments.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills, especially Node.js; experience with Next.js and React.
• Experience designing, implementing and operating APIs.
• Experience with Azure App Services, Cosmos DB, Application Insights and monitoring.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong testing practice, including unit and end-to-end tests.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code and operational automation.
• Experience drafting, testing and improving prompts for AI services.
• Clear written and spoken English and experience in cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Terraform or Bicep.
• OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini or Azure AI APIs.
• RAG or agent-based applications, observability, security or compliance in regulated environments.
• Azure or API certifications.

Full-time opportunity, hybrid in Lisbon, Portugal, with at least two days per week on site.
