Vodafone Group Plc in Lisbon is seeking a Front-End focused Software Engineer to shape digital solutions across web and mobile platforms. You will own frontend components, collaborate in cross‑functional teams, and contribute to a modern micro-frontends architecture, API integration, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Strong React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 expertise.
• Experience with micro-frontends, REST APIs and cloud environments.
• Hands-on with Git, npm, Webpack and ESLint in collaborative workflows.
• CI/CD experience and testing for quality software delivery.
• Fluent English, written and spoken (C1).

Responsible for the development and continuous evolution of digital solutions, including products, web/mobile applications, automations, and services. Main focus on Front-End Development, ensuring intuitive, reliable, and high-quality user experiences. Will play a key role in the digital transformation programme for European Network Operations. Will develop innovative solutions to simplify operational processes, improve efficiency, and deliver tangible value to the organisation. Will be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design to development, testing, and deployment. We are looking for someone with strong ownership, attention to detail, the ability to manage priorities, and effective communication with both technical and business stakeholders.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain high-quality Front-End digital solutions and reusable components for web applications;


• Drive continuous improvements across our digital products, with a focus on usability, performance, scalability and maintainability;


• Participate in requirements analysis, technical design and solution definition for new business needs and product evolutions;


• Develop solutions based on modern Front-End architectures, including micro-frontend approaches and integration with backend services through APIs and web services;


• Ensure code quality through appropriate testing, code reviews and adherence to development standards and engineering best practices;


• Contribute to defining, sharing and continuously improving Front-End development standards, coding guidelines and best practices across the team;


• Work within Agile delivery frameworks, actively contributing to planning, refinement, development and delivery activities;


• Embrace a continuous delivery approach across development, integration, testing and deployment, leveraging CI/CD practices and automation;


• Troubleshoot application issues and contribute to the continuous improvement, reliability and evolution of existing digital products;


• Stay up to date with emerging Front-End technologies, frameworks and development practices, assessing their potential value and applicability to our digital ecosystem.

Who you are

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience;


• Core Front-End: Strong expertise in React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5 and CSS3, applying modern component-based development principles;


• Architecture: Experience with micro-frontends, reusable components, modularity, scalability and maintainability;


• API Integration: Solid understanding of REST APIs, web services and microservices architectures, integrating Front-End applications with backend services;


• Development Tools: Hands-on experience with Git, npm, Webpack and ESLint, following collaborative development and code-quality practices;


• CI/CD & Cloud: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated build, testing and deployment processes within cloud-based environments;


• Testing & Quality: Strong understanding of unit and integration testing, with a clear focus on software quality and continuous improvement;


• UX/UI: Good understanding of UX/UI principles, responsive design and usability, creating intuitive and consistent digital experiences;


• Agile: Experience working in Agile environments, particularly Scrum and/or SAFe;


• Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and translate them into effective technical solutions;


• Collaboration & Ownership: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural teams, engaging with both technical and business stakeholders while managing priorities independently;


• Additional technical skills: Knowledge of Flutter for cross-platform mobile development and Node.js/NestJS for broader end-to-end application development;


• 3+ years of professional Front-End development experience, preferably in complex enterprise environments and large-scale digital solutions;


• Proven hands-on experience delivering modern applications using React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3;


• Practical experience with micro-frontends, REST APIs, CI/CD, cloud environments and Front-End testing;


• Experience across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and technical design through development, testing, deployment and continuous evolution;


• Proven ability to collaborate within Agile, cross-functional and multicultural teams;


• Fluent English, written and spoken – C1 level.
