Vodafone Group Plc in Porto is seeking a Cloud Operations Expert to join the Cloud team, overseeing operations of cloud environments used to virtualize network functions in Vodafone’s core network.

The role requires hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, Tanzu, NSX, and RedHat OpenShift, plus strong knowledge of storage and networking, incident management, and security policy implementation. Hybrid work model with 8–10 in-office days per month.

Responsabilidades

• Operate and support cloud operations for Vodafone’s core network environments.
• Manage VMware vSphere, Tanzu, NSX, and RedHat OpenShift (RHOCP).
• Ensure robust storage and network technologies.
• Handle incidents, troubleshooting, and error handling for cloud platforms.
• Implement security policies and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Coordinate change, fault, and service requests with design and delivery teams across markets.
• Plan upgrades and security patches with cross-market considerations.
• Discuss platform evolution and roadmaps with vendors and internal teams.

What you’ll do

• Cloud Operations Expert will be part of the Cloud team, responsible for the operations of the Cloud Operations team and the cloud environments used to virtualize network functions in Vodafone’s core network.
• Managing and supporting a mixed environment of VMware vSphere, VMware Tanzu, VMware NSX, RedHat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP).
• Good knowledge of Storage and Network technologies.
• Managing critical situations by performing troubleshooting, incident management, and error handling for cloud platforms.
• Implementing security policies and remediating vulnerabilities on platforms following best practices and company procedures.
• Discussing, evaluating, and organizing change management, fault management, and service request processes with design and delivery teams, ensuring alignment across markets.
• Evaluating new versions, firmware, and patches; organizing and scheduling major upgrades and security patch implementations with consideration of cross-market impacts.
• Discussing platform evolution and technology roadmap with vendors and design teams, driving adoption of future-ready solutions.
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders across markets, design teams, vendors, and internal customers.
• Organizing and managing tasks efficiently to meet deadlines, while maintaining a strategic, multi-market perspective.
• Incident, change, and problem management for multi-vendor cloud platforms including RHOCP.
• Life cycle management of diverse cloud infrastructure across markets.
• Relationship management with design teams, engineering teams, and internal customers across multiple markets.
