A Experis, a global leader in talent management solutions, is currently recruiting a Freight Forwarding Manager to join an international company operating in the logistics and transportation sector, based in the Porto area.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Development
- Lead the development and execution of the Freight Forwarding strategy in Portugal, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall business objectives and international strategy.
- Drive business growth by identifying and developing new opportunities across local and regional markets.
- Build and strengthen long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders
- Lead the implementation and development of new customer accounts and freight flows, including FTL and LTL solutions.
Operational & Department Management
- Assume overall responsibility for the Freight Forwarding function, ensuring operational efficiency, service quality, and compliance with company standards.
- Define, monitor, and improve departmental performance through relevant KPIs and performance indicators.
- Ensure effective planning and allocation of resources and transport capacity in line with business requirements.
- Drive the continuous improvement of operational processes, workflows, and service delivery models.
- Ensure a high level of operational excellence while maintaining a strong customer focus.
Leadership & People Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the Freight Forwarding team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment.
- Work closely with the FTL Network Team Leader, Multimodal, and other operational leaders to ensure seamless coordination across the organization.
- Promote professional development, knowledge sharing, and the adoption of best practices within the operational teams.
- Act as a role model and provide guidance and expertise to colleagues across the wider organization.
Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
- Establish effective performance management, reporting, and monitoring processes.
- Track key indicators related to productivity, service quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and lead improvement initiatives
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence, ensuring that agreed actions translate into measurable business results.
