EDP, a global energy company, seeks a Financial Accounting Specialist in Porto to join the finance team. You will close monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounts and prepare journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring accurate general ledger and reporting packages.

The role requires IFRS knowledge, Portuguese/English fluency, and experience with SAP and Advanced Excel. This is a full-time fixed-term contract from 01/11/2026 to 19/01/2028 in Porto, Portugal.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in renewables.
• Knowledge of IFRS; experience with SAP and Excel is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Close monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounts.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses.
• Ensure accuracy of the general ledger and financial statements.
• Prepare statutory accounts and reporting packages.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Monitor CAPEX related to renewable energy projects.
• Support internal and external auditors.
• Maintain audit trails for significant transactions.
• Collaborate with BU teams.

We are looking for an Financial Accounting Specialist to join our team.

Main responsibilities:

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting analyses
• Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and financial statements
• Preparation of statutory accounts and reporting packages
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
• Monitor and account capital expenditures (CAPEX) related to renewable energy projects
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
• Support internal and external auditors
• Maintain adequate documentation and audit trails for all significant transactions
• Collaborate and support BU teams

What are we looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• 2-4 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the renewable energy sector
• Knowledge of IFRS
• Experience with SAP is a plus
• Advanced Excel skills are a plus
• Proficiency in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken
