Job summary

Bosch Aveiro, a major production and R&D site in Portugal, invites a motivated engineering student or graduate to join the local quality team for a 12-month internship. You will support LQO in product approvals, engineering changes, and quality problem-solving.

You will develop dashboards, reports and databases to monitor quality performance, apply AI tools to automate reporting, and help move from reactive to predictive quality management.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electromechanical, industrial engineering or data analytics.
• Interest in Quality Management and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of problem-solving methods (8D, FMEA, Six Sigma, Lean) is a plus.
• Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, Python, SQL; English and Portuguese fluency.

Responsibilities

• Support LQO in approval and release of new products and changes using 8D, FMEA, RCA, Lessons Learned.
• Support product audits and reliability testing to fulfill annual planning and deviation management.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and databases to enhance quality monitoring.
• Apply digital solutions and AI tools to automate reporting and strengthen decisions.
• Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends and risks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects focusing on process efficiency and transparency.

Job Description

Your contribution to something big:

• Support Local Quality Engineers (LQO) in the approval and release of new products, process and engineering changes and participate in quality problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and Lessons Learned;
• Support product audits (Q-Test), reliability testing (Z-Test) to fulfill the annual planning, deviation management, and containment actions;
• Develop and optimize dashboards, reports, and databases to enhance quality performance monitoring and decision-making;
• Apply digital solutions and Artificial Intelligence tools to automate reporting activities, improve data validation processes, and strengthen decisions through the "four-eyes" principle;
• Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends, detect risks, and support the transition from reactive problem-solving to predictive and preventive quality management;
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on process efficiency, data transparency, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

What distinguishes you:

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Physics Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field;
• Interest in Quality Management, Manufacturing Processes, and Continuous Improvement methodologies;
• Basic understanding of problem-solving methods such as 8D, FMEA, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing is a plus;
• Knowledge of data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Python, SQL, or AI-based solutions is highly valued;
• Fluency in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken;
• Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving approach and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within international, multidisciplinary and multicultural teams;
• Curious mindset with a willingness to challenge the status quo and continuously improve processes.
