Solvay in Lisbon seeks an Export Control and Sanctions Expert to join the ECS team within the Global Trade function. You will build and maintain ECS control processes, lead regional and global projects, and advise on compliant export/import operations under EAR and OFAC.

The role offers hybrid working with 2 days per week in Lisbon or 2 days per month elsewhere, a 9-month maternity cover contract, and a rewards package including a parental leave program, healthcare and development opportunities.

Qualificações

• Relevant degree in International Trade, Law, Supply Chain or Business Management.
• At least 3 years of experience in export control and sanctions or global trade.
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of EAR and OFAC regulations is essential.
• Ability to anticipate regulatory and geopolitical changes and drive improvements.
• SAP GTS knowledge is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Lead ECS projects to support regulatory changes and ensure compliance.
• Develop and maintain ECS control processes and documentation.
• Contribute to group policy and program implementation for trade compliance.
• Monitor regulatory evolutions and implement regional/global actions.
• Provide advisory support on export/import operations under applicable regulations.
• Deliver regular reporting and KPIs to the ECS network.

About the role

Our Global Trade function, composed of 15 people, focuses on trade compliance and operational excellence in collaboration with Legal, Procurement, Supply Chain and HSE. Our Export Control and Sanctions (ECS) team, composed of 5 people, is integrated into the Global Trade function and focuses on leveraging our expertise in ECS regulations as well as digital solutions to keep our business operating compliantly. As an Export Control and Sanctions Expert, you will work on ECS control process build-up and maintenance and lead ECS projects to support the implementation of evolving regulatory changes and stringent governmental requirements. You will be able to contribute to key and strategic ECS priorities and positively impact the ECS ecosystem. You will be accountable for: Group Trade Compliance Policy & Program ImplementationLead ECS digital evolutions both at regional and global levelMonitoring regulation evolvement, interpreting, and taking the lead on the implementation in the responsible regionAdvise on compliant export and import operations with applicable regulations (License determination, Sanction Partner Lists, Embargos)Create and maintain process documentation (Import/Export licenses determination, End-user/End-use certificate collection)Successful deployment of initiatives and projectsUp-to-date communication, awareness, and training for the ECS networkRegular reporting and KPIs on current activities We offer a temporary contract for 9 months to cover a maternity leave, based on hybrid working mode (2 days a week if you are from the Lisbon metropolitan area or 2 days a month if you live outside the Lisbon metropolitan area).

About you

Relevant degree or equivalent in International Trade, Law, Supply Chain, Business Management. Relevant work experience of at least 3 years in export control and sanctions or global trade. Competencies: Fluent in EnglishUnderstanding of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulationsAbility to identify & anticipate regulatory and geopolitical evolutions, continuous improvement, negotiation skillsEffective problem-solving skills with the ability to implement solutionsSAP Global Trade Services (GTS) knowledge is desired Behaviors: Effective communication and good interpersonal skills, with a good team spiritDetail oriented Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority; build consensus and look for collaboration with people from different functions

About the pay

Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The annual base pay expected for this role is EUR 32,480 to EUR 40,600. Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
