EMEA IT Ops Lead — Lisbon Hub

Job summary

Discord is opening an engineering hub in Lisbon and seeks a founding IT lead to stand up the regional technology surface. Based in Lisbon, you will own identity, device management, networking, AV, and SaaS, partnering with Security and SF teams to ensure a reliable IT footprint for the EMEA region.

You will automate workflows, run onboarding/offboarding, and cover regional operations with async, well-documented handoffs, while contributing to a distinctive Lisbon identity within Discord.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience managing IT systems in high growth tech companies.
• Experience across identity, device management, networking, SaaS and collaboration tools.
• Automation chops: Python scripting and no-code/low-code workflows.
• Excellent written communication and async discipline.
• Ability to stand something up from scratch and operate independently.

Responsibilities

• Stand up IT for the Lisbon region: establish the office's tech footprint and processes.
• Own end-to-end surface: identity, device management, network, AV, and SaaS.
• Script and integrate systems using APIs and automation to unify operations.
• Run onboarding/offboarding for the region to ensure day-one readiness.
• Be the regional coverage anchor and coordinate with the SF team.
• Identify recurring issues, automate improvements, and measure time/risk savings.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
