Discord is opening its first engineering office in Lisbon and seeking the founding recruiter on the ground to build the local recruiting foundation as we grow to ~30 engineers by 2027. You’ll own full-cycle recruiting for Core Tech, while shaping our Lisbon presence and processes.

You’ll work with the US recruiting team, set priorities, and build the Lisbon playbook with strong cross-functional partnership. This role is pivotal in defining Discord’s Lisbon hiring culture.

Qualificações

• Full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in-house at a high-growth tech company.
• Track record hiring senior and staff software or infrastructure engineers.
• Deep knowledge of the Lisbon engineering talent market.
• Comfort operating across time zones and with ambiguity; build roadmaps.
• Fluent English plus Portuguese or proven Portugal recruiting network/relationships.

Responsabilidades

• Own full-cycle recruiting for Core Tech engineering and related roles in Lisbon.
• Build our employer brand in Lisbon through meetups, university relationships, and events.
• Adapt hiring process and offer structure for the Portuguese market.
• Partner with People, Legal, and Compensation on process and policies.
• Act as trusted talent partner to hiring managers; bring market data and set hiring standards.
• Develop repeatable foundations: Greenhouse hygiene, pipeline reporting, sourcing operations.
• Independently track pipeline health and hiring pace; report to stakeholders.
• Decide on recruiting support (agents, contract sourcing) as volume grows.
