NGR Talent Search in Portugal seeks an experienced Electrical Site Manager to oversee the build and grid integration of a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in the Alentejo region.

The role is 100% on-site in Alentejo with national travel across Portugal as milestones require. You will lead field teams, manage MV/LV installations, and ensure safety and compliance throughout energization and commissioning.

About the Project & Client

On behalf of an international EPC contractor specializing in utility-scale renewables and energy transition assets, we are recruiting an experienced Electrical Site Manager to oversee the build and grid integration of a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Southern/Central Portugal (Alentejo region).

Mobility Notice

This is a 100% field-based role based in the Alentejo area, with national travel across Portugal depending on project milestones. Open to candidates nationwide available for full site presence.

Your Mission

You will lead the field execution of all electrical packages from civil interface through to energization:

• Site Supervision: Direct field contractors and internal crews executing MV/LV installations, power transformers, PCS units, battery containers, grounding grids, and DC/AC interconnects.
• Technical Management: Review single-line diagrams, engineering submittals, and execution schedules to prevent site bottlenecks.
• Commissioning & Testing: Drive quality control protocols, oversee pre-commissioning testing (insulation, relays, continuity), and assist during energization and grid operator compliance trials.
• Safety & Standards: Maintain stringent HSE compliance on-site, with specific focus on high/medium-voltage hazards, arc-flash prevention, and battery thermal management protocols.

What We Are Looking For

• Track Record: Hands-on experience in Medium Voltage (MV) networks, substations, and utility-scale assets (BESS, Solar PV, or Wind).
• Skills: Strong blueprint reading skills (SLDs, wiring schematics), decisive contractor oversight, and high quality standards.
• Mobility: Full commitment to 100% on-site work in Alentejo and flexibility for national travel across Portugal as needed.
