Job summary

Sonoco in Setúbal, Portugal seeks an Occupational Health and Safety Technician to organize and oversee risk prevention activities, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and the company’s zero-accident policy.

You will coordinate prevention plans, assess risks, train workers on safety and environmental issues, and liaise with national networks. A degree in Engineering or Environmental Science and CAP Level V, plus 1+ year of experience and English proficiency, are required.

Qualifications

• Higher education degree in Engineering or Environmental Science.
• Level V CAP as an Occupational Health and Safety Technician.
• Over 1 year of experience in the role, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Proficiency in English; training in Environmental Management Systems (over 16 hours).

Responsibilities

• Organize, develop, coordinate, and oversee risk prevention and protection activities.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and zero-accident policy.
• Coordinate prevention plans, assess risks, and design and schedule measures.
• Provide technical coordination and supervise professionals in the field.
• Manage external resources for prevention and protection activities.
• Promote training for workers on workplace safety and environmental issues.
• Develop relationships with bodies in the National Occupational Risk Prevention Network.
• Monitor and verify environmental measures and corrective actions.
