Job summary

SWJ Portugal Engineering Solutions, based in Lisbon, is seeking an ECAD Librarian to support the electronics team across ECAD libraries, data quality, and component management. You will create and maintain symbols, footprints and 3D models while ensuring data integrity and traceability with internal systems.

You will collaborate with Hardware Engineering, PCB Layout and Component Engineering, contributing to library standards and automation in a global environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in electronics, electrical engineering, PCB design or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with ECAD libraries, electronic component data or PCB design.
• Understanding of component packages, pin configurations, datasheets and PCB layout.
• Clear communication and structured work approach.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints, 3D models and component mappings.
• Check library objects against datasheets and design/manufacturing requirements.
• Review and release ECAD library data with traceable versions and approvals.
• Keep component data consistent across ECAD and component-management systems.
• Collaborate with Hardware Eng., PCB Layout and Component Eng. on library questions.
• Help improve library standards, data quality, and automation.

SWJ Portugal Engineering Solutions is part of the international SWJ Group. Based in Lisbon, our team works across software, hardware and testing, with a focus on embedded systems. We support our customers throughout product development, working with Automotive SPICE, agile methods and customer-specific processes and tools.

We’re looking for an ECAD Librarian to support our electronics team.

What you’ll do

• Create and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints, 3D models and component mappings
• Check library objects against manufacturer datasheets and design and manufacturing requirements
• Review and release ECAD library data, keeping versions, approvals and documentation traceable
• Keep component data consistent across ECAD and component-management systems
• Work with Hardware Engineering, PCB Layout and Component Engineering to resolve library-related questions
• Help improve library standards, data quality, component reuse and automation

What you bring

• A degree or vocational qualification in electronics, electrical engineering, PCB design or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with ECAD libraries, electronic component data or PCB design
• An understanding of component packages, pin configurations, datasheets and PCB layout
• A careful, structured approach and clear communication skills
• Business-fluent English and basic Portuguese skills
• Experience with Altium, comparable ECAD tools, PLM systems or PCB manufacturing requirements is a plus.
