Philip Morris International is seeking an innovative Digital Innovation Manufacturing AI Intern to bridge business needs with technology solutions in our Albarraque, Portugal operations. You will partner with factory teams to identify AI opportunities, map processes, and drive automation projects that deliver measurable business impact.

Mission and Team Hook

As a Digital Innovation Manufacturing AI Intern, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions, partnering with factory teams to identify opportunities where AI and digital tools can improve ways of working, automate processes, and unlock efficiencies.

Impact You'll Own

Drive the identification of high-value AI opportunities within factory operations, support the adoption of digital transformation initiatives, improve the end-user experience through automation and process simplification, help create scalable solutions that deliver measurable business impact, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

What You'll Do

Engage with stakeholders to understand operational challenges and identify opportunities for innovation. Map and redesign business processes by leveraging AI and automation solutions. Support the implementation of AI copilots, automation tools, and other digital initiatives. Develop business cases and value assessments for innovation projects, coordinate pilot programs, monitor outcomes, and measure impact. Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and adoption activities while creating project documentation and success metrics. You will also collaborate directly with business leaders, architects, and engineers in a highly dynamic environment.

Skills & Capabilities

Must Have

• A strong analytical mindset, experience with Generative AI technologies, the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders, strong project management and organizational skills, and a genuine passion for AI, innovation, and digital transformation. Fluency in English is required.

Nice to Have

• A degree in Engineering, Technology, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field. Up to 1 year of professional experience in the area. Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies, knowledge of change management principles, and experience in industrial or operational environments will be considered an advantage.
